David N. Fisher



David Fisher graduated from The University of Delaware with honors majoring in Criminal justice. Mr. Fisher went on to graduate from New York Law School cum laude where he was a member of the New York Law School law review and was a Justice John Marshall Harlan Scholar.

Before becoming a managing partner of Fisher & Byrialsen PLLC, Mr. Fisher worked as a public defender at The Legal Aid Society. As a public defender, Mr. Fisher handled thousands of criminal cases ranging from jumping turnstiles to serious gunpoint robberies. Mr. Fisher is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
Jane H. Byrialsen



Jane Byrialsen attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she graduated with honors. She attended the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., receiving the John F. Evans Award for excellence in trial advocacy. In addition, Ms. Byrialsen attended a summer law program at Oxford University focused on International Human Rights. Ms. Byrialsen is admitted to practice law in New York, the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Before becoming a managing partner in Fisher & Byrialsen, PLLC, Ms. Byrialsen worked at the New York Legal Aid Society. At the Legal Aid Society Ms. Byrialsen handled hundreds of criminal cases, both felonies and misdemeanors. Many of these cases required not only experience in criminal law, but also knowledge of and research into civil and immigration consequences of arrests and criminal convictions. Prior to joining the Legal Aid Society, Ms. Byrialsen was the law clerk for the Honorable Gerald I. Fisher at D.C. Superiour Court.









Alissa Boshnack



Alissa Boshnack graduated from Cornell University, cum laude. Ms. Boshnack went on to graduate from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow for the Children and Youth Law Clinic. As a Clinic Fellow, she advocated on behalf of foster care children and was awarded the Henry Bandier Fellowship and the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Academic Performance.

Before joining Fisher & Byrialsen PLLC, Ms. Boshnack gained experience in criminal law through her internship at the Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney, where she assisted in handling cases ranging from misdemeanors to aggravated assault with a firearm cases. She also gained New York criminal law experience through her summer internship at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, where she worked in the Gang Violence and Hate Crimes Bureau. Ms. Boshnack is admitted to practice law in New York.
Sidney Thaxter



Sidney Thaxter is currently a student at CUNY School of Law. He is a member of the National Lawyers Guild and the New York County Lawyers Association. He is a Revson Fellow and has worked as an intern for the Bronx Defenders and The Legal Aid Society. Mr. Thaxter is a licensed process server, specializing in locating and serving police officers in civil rights law suits. He is one of several students heading a project to create a manual designed to assist victims of police misconduct. Additionally, through the Suspension Representation Project, Mr. Thaxter represents students in public school suspension hearings and appeals.

Mr. Thaxter received his B.A. from Fordham University in the Bronx. Upon graduation, he worked as an investigator for the Legal Aid Society in Manhattan, investigating criminal cases ranging from trespassing to attempted homicide. His responsibilities included locating and interviewing witnesses, collecting and preparing evidence, and testifying on behalf of the defense.

Mr. Thaxter responsibilities at Fisher & Byrialsen PLLC include investigation, legal research, process serving and drafting various documents.
